In 2003, we set out to support promising students on their entrepreneurial journey. Our goal was to create a community in which talented and driven individuals are empowered to reach their full potential.
A community where hardship is shared and success is celebrated. At START, no one is ever left behind.
Our Members
Currently, there are 252 active members at START Munich. Most of our members have either a technical or management background, but we strive to welcome people from all academic, professional and cultural backgrounds. We are also dedicated to increasing the female members within our ranks.
To all the women out there reading this, if you feel like you don’t belong in an entrepreneurial community, think twice. At START we will welcome you with open arms. According to the Female Founders Monitor, less than 20% of founders in Germany are female. We want to change that, together with you. And we have already started, as shown by some of our most successful female founders, such as Lea Frank of anybill and Jennifer Dussileck of finway.
We are all over Europe
By joining START, you are joining one of the most widespread and influential networks in all of Europe. The START Network was born over two decades ago in St. Gallen – now it counts eleven chapters (St. Gallen, Lausanne, Liechtenstein, Berlin, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Barcelona, Lisbon, Warsaw, Helsinki & Munich) in seven different countries (Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Finland).
Our Track Record
Many great stories and ventures have their origins at START Munich. Our alumni have created products and services such as Freeletics, IDnow, and Trade Republic. In total, startups founded by our alumni have received over 2 bio. € in accumulated funding.
